Dee has only worked for our mother for 4 weeks but her presence in our lives has been transformative. She listens to instructions attentively and carries them out to the letter. She goes beyond our expectations, both caring for our mother and maintaining the apartment in a state of order and cleanliness. She makes a special effort to encourage our mother to look nice and encourages her to go to activities in her retirement village that will restore the “human… connection” she missed during her recovery.
Each time a family member has stopped by to visit while Dee was there, they comment on how personable and enthusiastic she is about her job. Caring for the elderly can be a challenge, but Dee does it with kindness, grace, and unlimited patience. “June Chandler”

Christina is the best thing that has happened to me and my wife Bonnie since Bonnie became an invalid. Couldn’t do it without her.

Alex was a phenomenal caregiver for my 96-year-old mother during the last 6 weeks of her life. I had brought my mother home and placed her on hospice. Although I was working from home, I still needed someone to give Mom her abundant medications, clean her, prepare food for her, feed her, help her with some stretching exercises and talk to her while I worked during the day. So I hired Alex to come during the week from 8 am-12… pm, which is what I could afford. She also did some light cleaning for me (laundry, vacuuming, washing dishes). She was extremely diligent and dependable and, together, we worked out a very structured schedule to get everything done for Mom, which worked beautifully. On top of all that, Alex offered to work on most Saturdays so that I could get out and do some personal things and enjoy breakfast or early lunch with my daughter. I will be forever grateful for Alex’s kindness and dedication in making sure that Mom’s last days on this earth were as pleasant as they possibly could be. “Pat McCarty”

The first time our mother said that, we knew that Jheanell had made a real connection with her. Our mother is an independent, opinionated and articulate woman who had a long career as a teacher and who has traveled the world. It wasn’t easy to convince her, as she reached her 90s, that having some assistance with her daily routine would make things easier for her – and would reassure us. In Jheanell, Caring People found the perfect match for… our mom. Jheanell shares many of our mother’s values and priorities: family comes first, education is important, personal expectations are high, and it’s best to dress up for each day! Jheanell takes care and supports with respect and affection. She is unbelievably creative in solving difficulties in a way that leaves mom’s sense of independence intact and she anticipates needs and challenges before they even occur to us. She made sure throughout the difficult months of the shutdown that our mom was engaged, stimulated, and on Zoom! She is proactive and helps our mother organize and navigate her activities and calendar. Clearly, mom knows that she has Jheanell’s support and she welcomes her counsel and companionship. We know this because not a week goes by without our mom telling us how lucky she feels to spend time with Jheanell, the ‘gem of the Amsterdam.’ “Renee”
